An elegant space. Since the 17C, the Japanese have strived to make Kenroku-en one of the most sumptuous gardens in the country, expressing a visual harmony where nature is organised in the most beautiful way possible. You can stroll around the delightful paths which weave around the trees, water features, rivers and man-made hills. With each season the garden dons a new guise: autumnal hues, spring buds, multicoloured flowers or a cloak of bright white snow. Avoid the crowds by coming first thing in the morning or last thing in the afternoon.
