Description
The National Museum of Australia in Canberra is striking by its "deconstructivist" architecture: angular volumes, bent lines, curved walls and improbable combinations of materials and colours. An outdoor courtyard is home to a Garden of Australian Dreams that symbolises Aboriginal Dreamtime trails. The collections, including 200,000 works (exhibited on a rotating basis), invite the visitor to discover historic events, people and issues that have had an impact on the history and construction of this nation.
