The old town of Ghent

The Michelin Guide's review
One of the largest pedestrian areas in Belgium, the old town of Ghent is at times monumental, with its succession of remarkable buildings starting at Korenmarkt; at times majestic with its bridges, quays and pinnacled façades reflected in the River Lys (Leie); and at times secretive in its maze of narrow streets in the Patershol, forsaken by the crowds. And to round off any day in Ghent, head to the Vrijdagmarkt for a drink on the square.
