Description
This salt mine, on the Unesco World Heritage list, is comprised of 330km of galleries built on 9 levels. Various curiosities await; carvings, saline lakes, deep wells, but the high point of the visit is the St Kinga chapel, a subterranean sanctuary lit by salt crystal chandeliers and decorated with bas-reliefs and carved altars. Interesting museum on the third level (history of the mine, extraction techniques and machinery).
