Ryogoku

Useful information

Description

Ryogoku is a heartland of sumo wrestling. As befits a designated entertainment area, the wrestlers' district now has its own "temple" in the form of the enormous Ryogoku Kokugikan, a stadium where these giants clad in colourful yukata compete. Just as massive is the quadruped building squatting close to the train station: it houses the fascinating museum that tells the story of this city once known as Edo. Further south, a charming park and other throwbacks to the former city await you.
