Useful information

Description

Established in 1966 by Idemitsu Sazo, founder of the large oil company of the same name, this museum is renowned for the quality of its temporary exhibitions. Its collection includes some very fine Japanese pieces (Hizen porcelain from Kyushu, masterpieces by the painter Sengai etc), as well as work by Western artists. The latter includes a collection of paintings by Georges Rouault (1871-1958).
