This stronghold, overlooking the sea from a height of 70m, was part of Sibenik's defensive system erected in the Middle Ages, although its current appearance dates from the Venetian period in the 15C. The fortress commands a fine view of the entire town, cathedral and the harbour. To the west, the remains of the ramparts tumbling down the hill to the sea are clearly visible. Since 2014, the fortress has housed a 1 000-seat auditorium.
