This splendid Jain temple, one of the largest in Rajasthan, is the work of the famous architect Dipak, who built it in the 15C for the rich merchant Sanghvi Dharnak Shah. Its rooms and courtyards are adorned with an array of exquisite marble sculptures that have been carved with extraordinary skill and delicacy. Note the pillars (there are more than 1 400 of these), the filigree carving on the domes, and the many different motifs that cover every spare inch of the temple (animals, musicians and shapely dancers).
