Description
Hidden in a wild setting of wooded hills and narrow valleys, Kumbhalgarh Fort overlooks the road leading from the Jodhpur plain to the Mewar hills. Its impressive walls bear witness to the fighting and rivalries which ravaged the region right up to the arrival of the British. Its secluded location and the simple military style of its architecture remind visitors that the splendours of the royal courts were just a tiny part of the region's history.
