Useful information

Description

Built by Pope Paul II, this was one of the first Renaissance buildings. Napoleon I made it the seat of the French administration, and it was also used by Mussolini. On the first floor, the Museo Nazionale displays collections of medieval art (ivories, Byzantine and Limousine enamels, early Italian paintings on wood, goldwork), as well as 15C-17C ceramics and small bronzes. Paul II's apartment rooms are also open to the public.
