Description
San Marco basilica boasts an elegant Renaissance façade overlooking Piazza di San Marco. The church interior, which is typical of Roman churches with its superposition of styles, has the traditional three-aisle layout of a basilica from the Middle Ages. In the apse, note the mosaic created for Gregory IV in the 9C.
