There is a fine view of the two-storey, 14-arch monument (58m high and 285m long) from Place des Otages. The viaduct ferries trains across the valley, fulfilling a vital role for this trading town that had to fight to obtain its first railway line in the 19C. The first storey is accessible to pedestrians via the Venelle de la Roche.
