Useful information

Description

The Casa de los Condes de Heras y Soto was actually built in 1760 for Adrián Ximenez de Almendral, who owned silver mines. On the corner, an atlas holding a basket of fruit rides a lion, while other atlantes supporting gargoyles surround the building. On display in the entrance is the head of a fallen angel - the sculpture of Winged Victory that fell off the Column of Independence during the 1957 earthquake.
