Running for 3km, a section of these caves discovered by a slave in the mid-19C has been opened to visitors. In its various galleries, note the phenomenon of crystallisation, seen here in a very pure form (the "crystal lamps" are unique in the world), and the rock formations, given evocative names. A small museum explains the unusual geological formation of these caves, their maritime origin and their habitational use by the Indians.
