Château de Labourdonnais
The Green Guide

Useful information

Description

Hidden from the road by a field of ancient mango treets, the Château de Labourdonnais stands at the end of a majestic driveway of Chinese Banyans (tropical trees in the Ficus microcarpa family). This grand colonial villa, built in 1859 by Christian Wiehe, member of a rich French-Mauritian family who still own the estate, houses superb decors and furniture. The visit ends with a look at a part of the orchard, which boasts, in particular, a rare collection of mango trees.
