Useful information

Description

In March 1508, Michelangelo purchased a group of houses for which he drew up plans to combine into one single residence. The building, sold to the city of Florence in 1858 by the last descendent of the Buonarroti family, houses family memorabilia, including items brought together by the master's great-nephew, also named Michelangelo. Works by the artist which can be admired here include the famous Madonna of the Stairs (1490).
