Useful information

Description

This museum houses exceptional Neolithic and Celtic collections. On the ground floor, the collection of objects in the Treasury shows the evolution of profane and religious art in Ireland, and gives an overview of early Irish culture and art. The upper level focuses primarily on the Viking period and the Middle Ages, presenting the founders of Dublin as more of a belligerent than an artistic people. There is also a collection of Egyptian antiquities.
