The Fort de Savoie, like Colmars itself, is steeped in quaint medieval charm. A staircase leads to a round tower and then to the huge arms room. Both have remarkable larch timber rafters, whose umbrella-shaped structure was produced in 1695 by shipyard workers. In the second enclosure, four vaulted rooms, which once housed the garrison, now host exhibitions.
