Description
This beautiful square shaded by palm trees, tropical almonds, laurels and a superb "rain tree" is laid out around the equestrian statue of El Libertador. Ice cream and juice sellers stroll about among the benches. It's a popular spot for a short break. The cathedral dominates the square. It is also home to two other significant buildings, the Palace of the Inquisition and, opposite, the interesting Gold Museum.
