One of the town's highlights, this tranquil, colourful little square (19C) is particularly attractive first thing in the morning or in the evening. At its centre stand life-size bronze sculptures by the Cuban artist Martha Jiménez Pérez, whose studio stands on the square; note the sculptures of the old ladies having a chat and the street vendor carrying a jar. The church of Carmen is noteworthy on account of its elegant twin bell towers.
