Description
This natural lake occupies the bottom of a vast valley. The deepest lake in the country (45m), 4km long by 1.2km, it is one of the jewels of the Triglav National Park. A circuit of the lake is a pleasant 10km-plus hike. On the south shore, 1.5km from the village of Ribčev Laz, is the Baroque Church of the Holy Spirit (1743). The way back via the north shore takes you through undergrowth at the foot of mighty rocky cliffs.
