Useful information

Description

Many Chinese continue to follow the Taoist faith, as witnessed by the Eastern Peak Temple, built in the early 14C. The faithful come here to place their offerings in front of the statues of a rich pantheon of divinities, made up of a somewhat puzzling array of mythological faces of both humans and animals, or a fusion of the two. In the entrance courtyard, a profusion of steles welcomes visitors, while a museum, modest in size yet housing a valuable collection of exhibits, highlights the history of Beijing.
