Description
Unlike Guo Moruo, who profited from his active collaboration with the Communist authorities, Lao She did not survive the Maoist Cultural Revolution (the official version of his death states that he committed suicide in 1966). A visit to the residence of this major writer is doubly beneficial, providing an opportunity to enter one of the traditional, and increasingly rare, houses in the city's old quarters, as well as providing a sensitive insight into his life.
