Description
The zoo covers two-thirds of the Parc de la Ciutadella and is dominated by the famous Dama del Paraguas (The Lady with the Umbrella), a sculpture by Joan Roig i Solé. The zoo houses over 2 000 animals representing 312 species from across the globe, although the majority of its facilities are now cramped and showing their age. Some are currently undergoing renovation work.
