Description
Opposite each other in this square, where a guillotine used to stand, are the theatre (1784) and the Ostel des Poissonniers (1710), a narrow Baroque house decorated with the allegories of the River Scarpe and the Sensée and mermaids. The theatre has replaced the old fish market.
