Description
The small Ajiro harbour serves as a starting point for cruise ships that hug the rugged Uradome coast in the heart of San'in Kaigan Geopark. The vessels first slalom between the small islets of Nishi Oshima, Tarobe-jima and Natane-jima (covered in pines) then approach the beautiful marine caves of Iwatsubame and Higurashi, skirting tiny coves fringed by white sandy beaches. The granite cliffs weathered by waves and the wooded coastline are reflected in the translucent water.
