Useful information

Description

Built in 1907 at the foot of Kyusho hill, this European-style whitewashed house stands on the site of the former Tottori Castle. It was the town's first villa to boast electricity and a telephone. It was the country house of the Ikeda clan, who reigned over the province for many years. Famous guests included future Emperor Taisho (1912-26). The interior is furnished with pieces imported from Europe and the rear overlooks a pleasant Japanese garden lined with lawns.
