Description
In the heart of Mesa Verde National Park, Chapin Mesa, between Soda Canyon and Spruce Canyon, is the site of the finest remains of the Anasazi civilization, ancestors of the Pueblo Indians. A visit to the Archaeological Museum is essential to understand the site, after which you can tour ancient Indian cave dwellings, notably those of Balcony House, Cliff Palace and Square Tower House. Follow the petroglyph trail, which commands stunning views over the canyons.
