  The Michelin Guide's review
The 194sq km/75sq mi Elk Island National Park abounds in varied wildlife including bison, elk, moose, beaver, coyote and pygmy shrew. At Tawayik Lake, myriad waterfowl crowd the skies and water, and the rare trumpeter swan can be glimpsed at Astotin Lake, at the northernmost end of the park. The park's wetlands, aspen forests and meadows are riddled with some 100km/60mi of nature trails. Visitors may even be treated to a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
