The Michelin Guide's review
The best known of Eusebi Güell's commissions to Antoni Gaudí (1900) was meant to be a residential area (a type of British-inspired garden city) for well-to-do families but was never completed. Purchased by Barcelona City Hall in 1922, the estate was transformed into a public park, much enjoyed by its inhabitants. While most of the park is still accessible for free, an entry fee is payable to enter the so-called monumental zone, home to Gaudí's works and his house.
