Description
Alarahan lies in a delightful spot at the end of a hidden valley, where a fast-flowing river of cool water seems to gush forth from a bare peak. At the top of the peak, a 13C citadel blends perfectly into the rock face. The challenging climb to the citadel via a steep flight of steps, then through a vaulted tunnel, is well worth the effort for the stunning views from the top. The old fortress overlooks a 13C Seljuk caravanserai which has retained many of its fine architectural features.
