The home of this collector stands in extensive grounds, dotted with sculptures by Renoir and Bourdelle, on the heights of Winterthur. The museum houses a fine collection spanning five centuries of painting, which seeks to focus on either the motifs, the colours or the avant-garde aspect of each period: Cranach the Elder, Brueghel and Rembrandt are exhibited alongside 17C-19C French painters (Watteau, Chardin, Corot, Delacroix, Renoir etc), as well as work by Van Gogh and Picasso.
