Useful information

Description

Inspired by Yukon palaeontological discoveries, the Beringia Interpretive Centre offers a concise but lively look at the region's prehistoric past. Beringia is the name given to the era when the Bering Strait could be crossed on foot (between 40 000 and 20 000 years ago). At that time, the region was inhabited by mammoths, bears and horses, as well as by the early humans who hunted them. The museum is home to stunning "palaeontological" works of art created by artists from the Yukon and elsewhere.
