Description

This production and exhibition centre brings together more than 5 000 lacquered objects created and sold by the 170 members of the Association of Lacqueurware Artists of Wajima. The price of a soup bowl, which can take up to six months and 120 stages to create, ranges from 8 000 to 50 000 ¥. The museum on the first floor has some superb pieces on display, some of which are over 400 years old. The artists are sometimes on hand to demonstrate their technique.
