Useful information

Description

The imposing Fort St Angelo served as a refuge for civilians during World War II and suffered severe bombing: the permanent exhibition at the Malta at War Museum offers a remarkable insight into this era and the stakes of this conflict from a Maltese perspective (then under British rule). At the end of your visit, take a narrow staircase down to an underground passage where the people took refuge in the event of an air raid. Best give it a miss if you're claustrophobic!
