Description
The Museum der Stadt Villach (Municipal Museum) occupies a superb building with a fine, arcaded courtyard. Note the uneven paving stones in the entrance hall, the only ones of their kind left in Villach. Two Gothic paintings by Thomas von Villach (c 1500) are exceedingly fine works. The large iron chests, which date from the 16C-19C, were for protecting valuable objects against fire.
