Description
Along with sugar cane and bananas, coffee was one of the main products of this 18C colonial society... which was built on slave labour. In a superb setting, Habitation La Grivelière shows the organisation of a coffee plantation complete with processing buildings, slaves' quarters and the "master's" residence. It is the best restored 18C estate on the island. Table d'hôte on site.
