Thil Hill rises to 492m in the heart of a region where iron ore was once extracted. It offers a magnificent panorama of the Auxois and Morvan areas. It also boasts the remains of a former collegiate church (1340) and of a once formidable castle, dismantled by order of Richelieu. The huge 25m high square tower, known as "the spy of the Auxois" or "the sentry", made it possible to keep watch over an area extending 50km around.
