Description
The underground citadel of Verdun boasts 7km/4.3mi of galleries equipped to meet the needs of an army: bakery, kitchens, field hospital, telephone exchange, ammunition dumps, etc. A tour in a self-guided vehicle provides an insight into the daily life of the Poilus soldiers in 1916 thanks to sound tracks, animated scenes, virtual images and reconstitutions. Heart-rending.
