Cats sun themselves on the copper roof of this flower-decked monastery, site of the tomb of Veronica Micle, Mihai Eminescu's muse. The neo-Classical church (1812) has two towers topped by bell-shaped roofs and is surrounded by arcaded buildings. Note the unusual onion dome roofs of the building entrances. The subdued interior, warmed by a chestnut soba, sets offs the brilliance of the silver icons and gilded iconostasis.
