Useful information

Description

Enclosed within its ramparts and clustered around Vannes Cathedral, the old town has been converted into a pedestrian zone. The elected capital of John IV, Duke of Brittany, it underwent considerable development in the late 14C. Remarkably well preserved, it boasts a fine ensemble of timber-framed houses. Take the time to study the façades: you will discover all sorts of colours and quirks, sculpted decors and corbel arches.
