In the middle of an attractive forest, the 18m-tall tower overlooks the town and surrounding area, which has been nicknamed the "Land of 100 000 Lakes". On certain evenings, a musical work is broadcast to accompany the nightfall. Called Crépuscule Boréal, it was specially created by Hugues Cloutier, a professor at the Val-d'Or Conservatory of Music.
