Useful information

Description

Surrounded by water, this Renaissance-style castle was built in 1543 by Maarten van Rossum, a blood-soaked general of Charles Duke of Guelders. It subsequently became the property of the Van Isendoorn family, who extended and improved it in the 17C and 18C. The interior, restored to its 18C appearance, is a fine example of an aristocratic residence occupied by the same family for generations.
