Useful information

Description

Tensha-en Garden bears witness to the wealth of the Date clan, who governed the town of Uwajima for 250 years. Created in 1866 by Date Munetada, the 7th daimyo of the clan, this ornamental garden is particularly beautiful in April when the wisteria and iris are in bloom. Other outstanding features include a central pond with ornamental stones, the Harusame tei (calligraphy pavilion) and the Senen kan (tea pavilion).
