The Michelin Guide's review
This 16C palace with a fine Plateresque gallery upstairs was used as a Casa de Contratación, where volunteers signed up to head off to the New World. In 1582, Cervantes stayed here as a guest of the Pizarro family. The author wrote part of his final work, The Labours of Persiles and Sigismunda, here, which was published after his death.
