Useful information

Description

Castell Coch is a fantasy castle of medieval inspiration. It was started in 1875 by the wealthy Maquess of Bute and the architect William Burges, and bears some resemblance to the city of Carcassonne (France) and the castle of Chillon (Switzerland). It has turrets, drawbridge, "murder holes" and portcullis.
