This is the family house of writer Selma Lagerlöf (1858-1940), who was made famous by her fairy tale The Wonderful Adventures of Nils and the first woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature (1909). She lived here from 1907 until her death, in the heart of Värmland, which forms the backdrop of several of her novels. All the rooms have been restored and are displayed to visitors as they were during the author's lifetime.
