Useful information

Description

Maurice Denis, the spokesperson of the Nabis, bought the 17C priory in 1915. Paintings, stained-glass windows and public notices illustrate the development of the Nabis, an artistic movement founded in 1888 that included Bonnard, Vuillard, Denis, Sérusier, Vallotton and Verkade. You can also admire paintings by the Pont-Aven and Pouldu groups (Gauguin, Emile Bernard etc) as well as works by Toulouse-Lautrec, Anquetin and Lalique. The chapel was decorated by Maurice Denis between 1915 and 1928. Statues by Bourdelle embellish the grounds.
