Description
The master of Art Nouveau, Hector Guimard, chose the foundries of Saint-Dizier to create his ornamental casts, and many houses have been decorated in this style. A stroll through the streets of the town will reveal several examples: 29, rue de la Commune de Paris (tulip door panel); rue de l'Arquebuse (no 1, 1b and 1c, no 31 and no 33); rue du Colonel-Raynal (nos 4, 6, 8 and 39); and rue du Général-Maistre (nos 13, 15 and 24).
