Description
The now-renovated zoo was inaugurated in 1954, to mark the fifth anniversary of the liberation of Shanghai by the Communists. It houses more than 6 000 animals from 600 different species on 70ha of land. Among the stars here, the many varieties of goldfish share the limelight with Asian elephants, South China tigers, Japanese cranes... and, of course, the giant panda, king of the animal kingdom in China. Attractions for all ages and the original Ferris wheel.
